Downtown's answer to the Strip's glitz, the Nugget is an upscale property in the center of Fremont Street. Originally opened in 1946 it has been expanded several times to add capacity. Mirage Resorts owned the property from 1979 to 2000, when Mirage was acquired by MGM Grand. In 2004 the property was sold to the Poster Financial Group and then again in 2005 to Landry's.
